La Chascona

(Vera Menezes, July, 2008)
A house with marvelous views over Santiago and the peaks of the Andes

This is Pablo Neruda's house, a wonderful house in Santiago. This charming house, a replica of a boat, has its own unique style with colorful small rooms and gardens on different levels. There are two bedrooms, one for Neruda and his wife Matilda and one for guests, a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, and a bar. There is also a beautiful library with a vast collection of books, paintings and other objects.
